3. Hydraulic Ram Pumps
A hydraulic ram pump is a unique pumping solution that uses the energy of flowing water to pump a portion of that water to a higher elevation — with no electricity and no fuel required. It works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as long as water is flowing.
How it works:
Water flows downhill from a river or spring through an intake pipe into the ram pump. The momentum of the flowing water creates pressure that pushes a small portion of the water uphill to a storage tank or irrigation system — sometimes hundreds of metres uphill.
